Summer update and upcoming print drop

Dear friends and colleagues

As we approach summer - and hopefully a positive new political era (in the UK at least) - I wanted to update you on some recent work and exhibitions. I’m also excited to announce that I’m going to be releasing my first ever time-limited edition print. The drop will take place on 17th July so please save the date and keep an eye out for more details.

(nb. I’m using a new email programme to send this so I apologise if any of you have found yourselves on this list unwittingly; you can unsubscribe easily using the link below.)

WORK IN PROGRESS - AFTER LONDON
’Looking west from 25 Cannon Street, 2024’

Pigment print on Kozo Japanese paper

This ongoing work is a visual response to Richard Jeffries’ book ‘After London’ (1885), which is regarded as one of the first novels of the Anthropocene, tackling Victorian anxieties around industrial development, urbanisation, natural resources, and climate. Seems incredibly prescient.
Flowers Gallery have a few initial framed prints to view on request.

LOOKING AT WHAT CAN’T BE SEEN
Robert Morat Galerie, Berlin
8 June - 31 September 2024

The exhibition combines works from two of my series for the first time. The Celestials cyanotypes and large-format Cloud Negatives (metallic pigment prints) are exhibited side-by-side. Together they evoke an otherworldly, dreamlike intensity that is augmented in several cases by layering multiple negatives – creating fictional images and allowing us to „look at what can’t be seen“.

BY THE SEASIDE
The Photographers’ Gallery Print Sales, London
28 June - 8 September 2024

A print from my Pierdom series - Blackpool South Pier, Lancashire, 2008 (48×60″) - is featured in this summer exhibition celebrating the British seaside in all its eccentric splendour. Also included are works by Rob Ball, Martin Parr, Anna Fox, John Hinde Collection, Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen & Luke Stephenson. More information here.
